After operating hotels for many years, the client took a leap to develop a series of commercial project/shopping centre around Bali-Lombok Islands
– one of them is this project – which is oriented to become a small – cosy shopping centre.
Located in one of the famous – hip tourism objects in Bali, ZKA was commissioned to reenvisage the site to provide an architectural concept of a “small” shopping centre containing a gourmet, a gym, a laundry centre and a signature restaurant.
With the narrow street opening, the first challenge was to make an interactive façade, especially in this area where a lot of “funky” buildings have been built by international architects.
Creating a low-cost energy in the operation, maximizing natural lighting and at the same time providing as many floor areas as possible to “jack up” the selling space were amongst the next important aspects to consider.
