Masjid baiturrahman amlapura bali

Location : Amlapura- Bali -Indonesia
Size : 1000 m2
Typology : Mosque
Status : Complished
Year : 2017 – 2022

This masjid built first time on the 1939 and already changed twice since the   first construction.

Considering the location that is too close to the main road and the orientation of the old masjid that slightly incorrect – the “takmir’ decided to renew the masjid in 2017 and appointed zka as the architect/ coordinator of design for this social work.

After reviewing the land condition , considering the shape, connection with the road and the accurate “kiblat” for the orientation of the building we faced the first challenge where the “kiblat” and the main road are not parallel. The next challenge is the oblique land shape which even make it worst.

As a result we create facade use the maximum length of the land so that the look of the building dominant from the road and for the internal space , we took as maximum rectangular shape that can be use for main prayer room and use the remain space for terrace/walkway combine with pond and series of landscaping.

With this approach we aim to create a non ac mosque – a blend internal external area in order to make the mosque more comfortable   and maximize the use of oblique shape.
